Aikatsu Stars Anime Enters 2nd Season With 'Hoshi no Tsubasa' in April

The official website of the Aikatsu Stars! franchise revealed on Thursday that the franchise will get a second season with the subtitle "Hoshi no Tsubasa" (Wings of the Stars) that will launch in April. The second season will feature new characters.
The new story will feature a rival school to Yotsuboshi Gakuen named Venus Ark. The school is on-board a cruise ship, and the story's two new characters are students at the school.
The new characters include:
Nako Eguchi as Kirara Hanazono
The staff also revealed visuals for the returning main characters:
Ayaka Asai as Laura Sakuraba
Yume Miyamoto as Mahiru Kasumi
The Aikatsu Stars! television anime series premiered on TV Tokyo and its affiliates in April 2016, and airs on Thursdays. The show also airs on BS Japan on Mondays.
The franchise received an anime film in August 2016.

Sumire Morohoshi as Tsubasa Kisaragi
Azusa Tadokoro as Yuzu Nikaidō
Ayaka Ōhashi as Yozora Kasumi
The series features a new protagonist named Yume Nijino. Yume aims to become a top idol, and she enrolls in the Yotsuboshi Gakuen (Four Stars Academy). This academy has a special group called the S4, who are the top four active idols in the school. Yume and the other first-year students aim to become a part of the S4.
