Tennis Star Nishikori Appears in Protein Bar Ad with YowaPeda, Black Jack, Baki Characters

Following Yowamushi Pedal's collaboration with figure skater Yuzuru Hanyu for the Tour de Tohoku, the anime is teaming up with another amazing athlete this week. Tennis star Kei Nishikori appeared in art alongside Yowamushi Pedal's Sakamichi Onoda in an ad for Morinaga & Company's in Bar Protein. The art was drawn by Yowamushi Pedal creator Wataru Watanabe.
Yowamushi Pedal is just one of the series participating in the ad campaign. The creators of Baki-Dou, Black Jack, Harigane Service Ace, and Super Radical Gag Family released original artwork of their characters and renditions of Nishikori enjoying an in Bar Protein snack.
Nishikori has previously appeared in ads for Cup Noodle, financial services company JACCS, and is a fan of the Dragon Quest video game series. Nishikori has been the subject of professional fan art in the past courtesy of The Prince of Tennis creator Takeshi Konomi. Konomi has even provided commentary on Nishikori's performance at the 2015 Australian Open.
