Kunihiko Yuyama is returning from other franchise installments to direct the film alongside Motonori Sakakibara(Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within, Rudolf the Black Cat). Takeshi Shudō (Pokémon: The First Movie) is credited as the scriptwriter, although he passed away in 2010.
