Pied Piper, Inc.'s Kickstarter campaign to fund an English dub of the Skip Beat! television anime series ended after raising US$224,546 on Saturday.
Mela Lee, Cristina Vee, and Erica Lindbeck (the voices of Maria Takarada, Erika Koenji, and Kanae Kotonami, respectively) uploaded a video to thank supporters of the campaign on Friday.
Pied Piper, Inc. will at a later date follow up with updates about subtitling teams, ADR script adaptation, a poll on stretch goal options, and merchandise designs.
The Kickstarter campaign had set an initial goal of US$155,000 to fund a DVD release. The campaign reached its US$185,000 stretch goal on Thursday to offer a Blu-ray Disc release in addition to the DVD release.
Pied Piper had originally launched an Indiegogo campaign for the franchise on March 1, but then relaunched the campaign on Kickstarter on March 17. The Indiegogo campaign had a goal of US$210,000, which the Kickstarter campaign surpassed.
