I was just reading about Yamamoto in the last few week. I suddenly had a surge of interest in Lodoss War for no reason after a decade or so. Yamamoto basically created Deedlit. His works have inspired truly countless people over the decades. Such sad news to see. RIP

Sad to hear that another one's been taken way too soon. He was a talented author with a great imagination.
If you find yourself enjoying Kaiju #8 when the anime debuts next week, you might also have fun with Yamamoto's MM9 books. It's another series that looks at kaiju attacks through a lens of disaster management (the MM stands for "Monster Magnitude"), and it was plain to see that he put a lot of thought into coming up with "plausible" scientific explanations for all kinds of Showa-era kaiju silliness. He will be missed. |
